Pupil Premium Funding
Pupil Premium Funding
The Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to close the gap between them and their peers. This funding is provided for pupils who are eligible for free school meals (or have been at any point in the past six years), children who are looked after by the local authority, and those with parents currently serving in the Armed Forces.
The purpose of the Pupil Premium is to ensure that socio-economic disadvantage does not act as a barrier to educational achievement. Schools are given the autonomy to determine how best to use the funding to meet the needs of eligible pupils. However, they are also held accountable for demonstrating the impact of the expenditure on improving outcomes.
At our school, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of background or financial circumstance, are given equal opportunities to succeed. Targeted support is implemented for pupils identified as not meeting age-related expectations or not making expected progress. This support may include tailored intervention programmes, additional staffing, academic mentoring, or pastoral care, depending on individual needs.
In accordance with statutory requirements, schools are expected to publish details of their Pupil Premium strategy, including a summary of the barriers to achievement faced by eligible pupils, how the funding is being spent, and the impact of this expenditure.
Please see the documentation below for a detailed overview of our current Pupil Premium allocation, spending strategy, and evaluation of impact.
