Year 6 - Ellen Macrthur

Welcome to Year 6!

Welcome back! We hope you have had a wonderful summer and you are feeling refreshed and ready to start another exciting school year!  We have lots of interesting things lined up for the first term of Year 6. We kick start the year by jumping into the topic ‘Vicious Vikings’. Mrs Lilley and I are really excited for the year ahead and getting to know you all! If you have any questions or things to discuss please feel free to make an appointment with myself after school.

How was Britain so powerful in the Victorian era?

Our theme this half term is the Victorians. We will be learning how Britain became so powerful from 1837- 1901. As the longest serving British monarch, Queen Victoria’s glorious reign lasted 64 years. During this period, Britannia ruled the waves with the world’s largest navy. During this time there was a great deal of change from new inventions, modern trade, rapid progress and industry.
